Training Transpro, Inc.s training department has over 25 years experience in the special needs transportation industry. Tracy Harding, Director of Safety and Training, has developed a curriculum in compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations as well as multiple agency contractual requirements. This curriculum includes in-depth classroom as well as hands-on instruction in all core components as required for special needs transportation services. We have a highly successful training staff certified to train in all areas of special needs transportation including instructor-trainer certification. ADA Passenger Techniques & Safety (ADAPTS):
8 to 10 hours. The program has been developed to satisfy the training
requirements under the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) Topics Include:
Part A: Passenger Relations Skills and Disability Awareness, and Developing
Sensitivity. Part B: Learning about the characteristics and operation
of equipment designed to assist persons with their personal mobility during
transportation. Safety, Equipment Operation/ Maintenance and passenger
comfort is stressed. |

Customer Service: 1-2 hours. The program
provides topics which will help trainees understand the critical elements
of outstanding customer service in the Transportation Industry. Topics
include: Greetings, Courtesy, promoting positive conversations, maintaining
a positive attitude, and making customers feel valued. |
| $50 | Defensive Driving: 6 to 8 hours.
This course has been developed by the National Safety Council and provides
trainees with the knowledge to identify the needs, benefits and definition
of defensive driving. Discussions include multiple safe driving habits,
the conditions that effect driving, and making good driving choices. |
| $60 | CPR/FA: 6 to 8 hours. This course
is certified by the National Safety Council. Video, lecture, hands on practice,
workbook exercises and final testing required. Basic in nature, certificates
in each subject valid for 2 years. |
| $15 | Blood and Airborne Pathogens:
1 Hour. Produced by NTI, National Traffic Safety Institute. Material contains
video and lecture which includes routes of infection, personal protective
devices and infection prevention. |

Fire Suppression: 30 Min. Video/Lecture/Handout
on using the PASS method; Point, Aim, Squeeze and Sweep to control fires.
All types of fires and extinguishers are discussed. |
| $25 | DOT/FTA - Drug and Alcohol Testing Program
for Employees: 1 hour. Existing Transpro Policy
review, FTA requirements, testing requirements, testing process, dangers
of drug and alcohol abuse, tolerance levels and discipline are all covered. |
| $50 | DOT/FTA - Drug and Alcohol Testing Program
for Supervisors: 2 hours. This program includes the dangers of using
drugs and alcohol along with signs and symptoms to look for. Supervisors
learn the basics of when to test in a reasonable suspicion, or post accident
situation. |
| $30 | Child Safety Restraint Training:
2 Hours. Video, lecture, demonstration, hands on practice. This program
has been developed to teach Transpro employees the method to secure the
specific child seats used by the company in the company vehicles. Infant,
Toddler and Booster seats are used. Students learn the legal requirements
and the best manner to secure seats. |
